The Bently Nevada 3300 XL Proximity Probe system represents the most advanced level of eddy current proximity sensor technology. The standard 3300 XL 8mm 5-meter system fully complies with the 4th edition of the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 Standard, covering requirements for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8mm proximity transducer systems deliver this level of performance and support complete interchangeability among probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need for matching or bench calibration of individual components.

The three parts of the system must maintain consistent electrical lengths, meaning the electrical length of the proximity probe plus the electrical length of the extension cable must equal the electrical length of the Proximitor.

Each component of the 3300 XL 8mm transducer system is backward-compatible and interchangeable with other non-XL 3300 series 5mm and 8mm transducer system components. This compatibility also includes the 3300 5mm probe, which is suitable for applications where an 8mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.
